2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Safety and Technology
High-End SUV with Jeep Off-Road Capabilities
The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a high-end option in the mid-size SUV class. While most automakers offer a vehicle in the class, the Grand Cherokee offers the Jeep off-road capability that others do not. Jeep only offers the Grand Cherokee with two rows and seating for five, and the SUV also comes with an available plug-in hybrid powertrain, called the Grand Cherokee 4XE - or “four-by-E.”
Keeping Drivers and Passengers Safe
The Jeep Grand Cherokee safety features include Forward Collision Warning with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, Forward Automatic Emergency Braking, Stop-and-Go Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Rear Parking Sensors, and a Rearview Camera.
Additional active-driving assist features are available on some trim levels. For example, buyers who choose the Limited trim can add the Luxury Tech Group II with Intersection Assist, Park Assist, Front Parking Sensors, Rain-Sensing Windshield Wipers, and a Surround-View Parking Camera System.
Plug-In Hybrid with Noteworthy UConnect Technology
Buyers can choose from three powertrains, a 3.6-liter V6, 5.7-liter HEMI V8, and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a plug-in hybrid electric motor. The PHEV technology delivers an EPA-estimated 56 MPG-e combined and 23 MPG combined with the gas engine. This technology has about 25 miles of all-electric driving and owners can charge their Grand Cherokee 4XE vehicles with a household outlet or a Level 2 charging station.
Trims with the PHEV technology include the base, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve. The Trailhawk only comes with the PHEV technology, while the others are standard with internal-combustion engines.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee technology comes standard on all trims. The entry-level Laredo trim comes with a state-of-the-art 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, several USB ports, Bluetooth, and six speakers.
Drivers who choose the Limited trim get a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen with navigation and the other standard features. The Overland trim offers an optional front passenger-side infotainment system, a back-row entertainment system, and 19 custom-designed speakers in a McIntosh audio system.
The Summit and Summit Reserve trims have an optional Advanced ProTech Group IV package with a Head-Up Display, Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror, Night-Vision Assist, and Wireless Device Charging.
